ONE DAY – TWO SENIOR DOE SHOWS AND TWO JUNIOR DOE SHOWS plus A YOUTH DAIRY GOAT SHOW

with

DUAL SANCTIONED ADGA/AGS NIGERIAN DWARF CLASSES IN RINGS ONE AND TWO

plus

SAANEN and TOGGENBURG SPECIALTIES

and

$100 will be awarded to the Best Doe in Show in Rings 1 and 2

$50 will be awarded to the Best Junior Doe in Show in Rings 1 and 2

SHOW RULES

 

 Entry Fees- $7 per head per ring.  POSTMARKED by MAY 22, 2010.  Entry fee for exhibitors pre-entering 10 or more animals will be $6, animals must be from same owner.  Early entries will be eligible for cash drawing – First draw $75, second draw $15 and third draw $10!  Entry fees must be enclosed with entry form.  Late entries (postmarked after May 22, 2010) or entries received without money will be $8 per head with no discount.  Late entries will be accepted until 7:30am the day of the show.

This show is dually sanctioned by the American Dairy Goat Association (all sanctioned breeds) and the American Goat Society (Nigerian Dwarf classes only) and their rules shall govern.  The Senior, Junior and Youth Doe shows are separately sanctioned for Alpines, LaManchas, Nigerian Dwarfs, Nubians, Oberhaslis, Saanens, Toggenburgs and Recorded Grades.  Both Senior and Junior doe shows will be held in Rings 1 and 2; Ring 3 will be a Youth dairy goat show only, i.e. open only to exhibitors under 21 years of age.  Youth do not need to be listed as owners of the animals they are exhibiting.  Registration/Recordation certificates are required for all animals six months of age or older.  No copies allowed.  A stamped duplicate of faxed application (from the ADGA office) will be accepted for animals under six months of age.  Certificate papers must be presented to the Show Secretary before judging shall begin (ADGA rule X1-A-6)

 

Animals must be in place no later than 7:30 am the day of the show.

 

BASE DATE FOR SHOW:  MAY 29, 2010   NO MILK OUT

 

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS:  All animals must be free of pink eye, ringworm, external parasites and sore mouth.  If the animal is questionable, please leave it at home.  SUBSTITUTIONS – within the same breed will be allowed.  These animals must be entered with the Show Secretary prior to the beginning of the show.

 

Any animal awarded a Grand Championship at this show and not exhibited in the “Best in Show” class will forfeit the Championship leg earned at this show (ADGA rule X1-J-9)

 

There will be Champion Challenge classes for Senior Does in all sanctioned breeds in both the Open Shows and the Youth Show.  The entry fee will be the same as other classes.

 

Prize Monies - $100 will be awarded to the Best Doe in Show in Rings 1 and 2; and $50 will be awarded to the Best Junior Doe in Show in Rings 1 and 2.

 

Please bring extra handlers, open shows will be run simultaneously.  The youth show will take place prior to the beginning of the open shows.

 

Hay may be fed in the barn, but must be fed in containers.

 

There will be a $2 per pen non-refundable fee.

 

The show barn will be open at 4 pm on Friday, May 29, 2010, for early arrivals.  The registration will be open from 6-9 pm on Friday and 6:30-8:00 am on Saturday.

 

EARLY ENTRIES ARE ENCOURAGED SO WE CAN TRY TO MAKE EACH BREED OFFICIAL

 

The SCTGC and the Washington County Fairgrounds will not be held responsible for any losses or damages incurred by exhibitors or visitors; all animals will be shown at owners’ risk.  Parents will be held responsible for the actions of their children.  Exhibitors are requested to be neatly and appropriately attired, preferably in white; however, dark pants/skirt and white shirt are acceptable.

 

Receipt of entry will be an agreement by the exhibitor to abide by the show rules.  Make sure your does’ tattoos match their registration papers.

SPECIALTY CLASSES WILL BE HELD IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE LAST CLASS OF EACH SPECIALTY BREED IN THE RING IN WHICH THEY ARE BEING HELD (I.E., SAANEN SPECIALTY CLASSES WILL BE HELD FOLLOWING THE SAANEN CLASSES IN RING 1; TOGGENBURG SPECIALTY CLASSES WILL BE HELD FOLLOWING THE TOGGENBURG CLASSES IN RING 2).  SAANEN SPECIALTY CLASSES INCLUDE:  BEST UDDER, SENIOR GET OF SIRE (3 DOES), JUNIOR GET OF SIRE (3 DOES), DAM & DAUGHTER, DAIRY HERD (3 SENIOR DOES), BEST THREE SENIOR DOES, AND BEST 3 JUNIOR DOES.  TOGGENBURG SPECIALTY CLASSES INCLUDE BEST UDDER, PRODUCE OF DAM (3 DOES), SENIOR DAM & DAUGHTER, SENIOR BREEDERS TRIO, SENIOR GET OF SIRE (3 DOES), JUNIOR BREEDERS TRIO, JUNIOR GET OF SIRE (3 DOES).
